How to choose the right explosion proof classifications?

As long as you are looking for explosion proof lighting, the application environment must contains combustible gas or dust, depends on the explosion proof standard, ATEX/IECEx and UL, you can have different classifications methods as below:

> ATEX/IECEx Standard 

If the combustible gas present normally, you need choose Zone 1

If the combustible gas present abnormally, you need to choose Zone 2

If the combustible dust present normally, you need choose Zone 21

If the combustible dust present abnormally, you need to choose Zone 22

> UL Standard 

If the combustible gas present normally, you need choose Class I Div 1

If the combustible gas present abnormally, you need to choose Class I Div 2

If the combustible dust present normally, you need choose Class II Div 1

If the combustible dust present abnormally, you need to choose Class II Div 2
